Our sincerest thoughts go out to those that have been affected by Hurricane Sandy. At InnoVergent the majority of our clients are located on the upper east coast area of the US, and have unfortunately been in the midst of this natural disaster. We hope all of the families and loved ones that have been affected are safe and sound, as we hope for a speedy recovery from the damage caused by the storm.
Although the storm has been a tragedy and hardship for many in their business and personal lives, we are proud to say that as an organization that provides cloud computing solutions, many of our clients were able to continue business as usual. Once power was restored, and our clients were able to access an Internet browser, they could continue to work.
Everyone has access to their data anywhere anytime on the cloud, and one of our clients even said, “We are thankful that we just finished our solution implementation because it has allowed us to continue to work throughout this storm, and we would not have been able to do so with our on-premise solution”.
Many businesses have been flooded and have lost partial or all of their data. This will add up to millions of dollars worth of lost productivity due to data loss or damage. Businesses have lost their servers and all backup information is permanently gone, but this is not the case when you are on a cloud platform. As long as you have power and access to the Internet your business is up and running.
The cloud provides companies with the security of knowing that all of your data essential to run your business is safe, backed up, and accessible to employees despite their physical location.
Though Hurricane Sandy desolately caused widespread panic, chaos, and inconvenience for many of our clients, we were happy to know that our clients could at least have a functioning business. InnoVergent is pleased to take part in helping businesses protect their data from disaster situations by hosting data off-premise. Cloud-based solution sets have the ability to withstand any disaster, even a hurricane that extends a thousand miles.
