NetSuite SuiteCommerce

NetSuite SuiteCommerce’s Commerce as a Service (CaaS) is the first commerce solution built with the idea that ecommerce is no longer a standalone channel but a core capability for B2B and B2C businesses.

The CaaS-based SuiteCommerce is the industry’s first solution to natively integrate ecommerce with core operational systems to meet rising customer expectations for a consistent experience across all touchpoints, from smartphones to call centers, from tablets to point of sale in virtually any country around the globe.

Technology Architecture

SuiteCommerce CaaS exposes native NetSuite commerce capabilities—including merchandising, pricing, promotions, payment processing, support management and customer management—as services that can be leveraged by any presentation layer, while providing an integrated back-end business management system.

The NetSuite SuiteCommerce Operations Platform includes several new technologies:

  • SuiteCommerce Experience:SuiteCommerce Experience is the front-end technology that enables companies to support any touchpoint without having to rebuild business logic. SuiteCommerce Experience is built on responsive-design principles, enabling designers to create any customer experience, from altering the page layout to changing the interaction design. For example, SuiteCommerce Experience adapts to different resolutions on mobile devices and supports interaction models appropriate to touchscreens, such as swipe pagination. In addition to supporting any experience design, SuiteCommerce Experience is extremely scalable and high performance. Whereas the industry standard is page loads in less than two seconds, SuiteCommerce Experience offers sub-second page rendering by avoiding the redundant downloading and rendering of traditional presentation frameworks.
  • SuiteCommerce Services: New SuiteCommerce Services expose NetSuite’s back-end commerce functionality and data as services to the SuiteCommerce Experience and any other commerce front-end touchpoint. These services, combined with SuiteCloud development tools, enable users to develop and use new business logic across multiple touchpoints. Promotions can be implemented once and enabled across online, telephone and in-store transactions. Leading B2C and B2B commerce providers such as Square, Stripe, SPS Commerce and Retail Anywhere have announced new products to support omnichannel commerce atop the SuiteCommerce Services platform.
  • SuiteCommerce Operations Platform: The SuiteCommerce Operations Platform provides the core native business processing capabilities to run modern commerce operations from a single, integrated system delivered via the cloud. Core commerce functionality includes order management, inventory management and master customer profiles. These systems of record enable commerce front ends to offer robust personalized promotions and merchandising, account management and support management technologies.

NetSuite SuiteCommerce delivers a competitive advantage that’s difficult to achieve with the previous generation siloed commerce solutions. For example, SuiteCommerce allows you to use cross-channel customer information as well as back-office financial data to drive merchandising and promotions. A promotion could be created in seconds targeting customers who have purchased more than $1,000 across any channel and offer a limited time 30% off promotion on any item with a gross margin greater than 50%.
